Stop Equipping The Enemy

Stop Equipping The Enemy

Prophetic Word from the Lord:

I feel like the Lord says stop equipping the enemy .

Stop equipping the enemy .

You've got to know that you have unknowingly equipped the enemy through your words, and through your thoughts, and through your actions, you have equipped the enemy to overtake you in your life and it's time for it to stop.

Let my words be the words that arise upon your lips, and let the thoughts of my word capture your heart once again.

Pour yourself into my word. Pour yourself into what I say. For in it I communicate the way I feel, in the way I think, and the way that I am, and who I am.

I communicate these things through the power of my word .

My word destroys and overthrows every yoke of bondage, and every yoke of the enemy.

And you shall walk in those things as you allow my word to work in you, you will no longer be equipping the enemy, but my word will be equipping you for the battle and equipping you for good success in those things and in those areas in which I call you, do not allow your actions to conform to the things of the world, but allow your actions to conform to the things of my word and the things of my Spirit and what my heart longs for you.

For if you will perform the desires of my heart, I will show you my good pleasure.

I will open to you my good treasure, and I will open the doors before your face that need to be opened. I will close the doors before your face that need to be closed .

I will do my work and my will in your life.

No longer equip the enemy by allowing your mouth to spew forth the things of hurt or bitterness or anger or this life.

No longer equip the enemy by allowing your mind to meditate on things that go contrary to the precepts of my word.

No longer equip the enemy by allowing your actions to be used against you.

But allow me to move in you, and you shall live, allow my word to speak to you and you shall live, allow my Spirit and my presence to dwell upon you and you shall live says the Lord.”

Several nights ago, the Lord began to stir something deep in my heart as I lay down. It wasn’t a loud moment. It wasn’t dramatic. But it was clear.

He spoke to me in that unmistakable way He often does. And He said just one sentence:

“Stop giving weapons to the enemy.”

Let me say that again: Stop giving weapons to the enemy.

That one word has echoed in my heart ever since. And it’s true—many times, without even realizing it, we hand the enemy the very weapons he uses against us. We equip him.

We empower him.

We give him permission.

And now it’s time for the people of God to rise up and shut that down. It’s time to stop allowing our mouths, our hearts, our actions, and our thoughts to become ammunition in the enemy’s hands.

When you speak words of death instead of life, you arm the enemy with words from your own mouth that he uses against you. If our hearts dwell on the wrong things, or have sinful motives, or selfish motives, the enemy will use these against us. Certainly, our actions, if they are not pleasing to the Lord will position us not only for a ruling against us, but they also become traps and snares the enemy uses to bring us into bondage.

Picture it like this: it’s as if we’re in a courtroom and the devil is standing as the opposing counsel. He interrogates us, twists our words, pokes at our past, and builds a case using our own voice against us.

Why does this matter so much?

Because your words are the testimony of your heart.

The Webster’s dictionary says that a testimony is “a solemn declaration usually made orally by a witness under oath in response to interrogation by a lawyer or authorized public official.”

Every time we speak, we testify!

Our words are either used for us or against us. And if we are using words that do not flow in alignment with God’s Word, the enemy will grab ahold of our words and weaponize them against us.

Scripture speaks about this in the Book of Luke.

Luke 6:43-45 NKJV

[43] "For a good tree does not bear bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit. [44] For every tree is known by its own fruit. For men do not gather figs from thorns, nor do they gather grapes from a bramble bush. [45] A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.

Jesus said, “Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.” So whatever flows out of your mouth, good or bad, reflects what’s been taking root in your heart—and that becomes evidence. Evidence that will either fight for you or against you.

So we’ve got to be careful. We’ve got to be intentional.

Ecclesiastes 5:2 says, “Do not be rash with your mouth, And let not your heart utter anything hastily before God. For God is in heaven, and you on earth; Therefore let your words be few.”

So what are we supposed to do with our words?

Let your words line up with heaven. Let your voice echo the promises of God. Let your speech be filled with faith, not fear; with hope, not doubt.

Don’t let worry, fear, anger, unforgiveness, or resentment dominate your conversation.

Let Psalm 19:14 be your daily prayer: “Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer.”

That’s the goal—to make sure our words please the Lord, to make sure our mouth isn’t equipping the enemy but empowering the Kingdom of God in our lives.

The Real Battlefield: Your Mind

Now, while our words are crucial, we can’t overlook another battlefield—the mind.

Yes, the enemy comes for your mouth. Yes, he’ll try to influence your heart. But one of his most frequent battlegrounds is right between your ears—your thoughts.

It’s here that the war rages.

Thoughts come flooding in. And they don’t always announce themselves as dangerous. Some thoughts slip in unnoticed. But they’re all working toward the same thing—to undermine the truth of God’s Word and plant seeds of fear, doubt, and defeat.

The devil’s playbook has not changed an ounce since the very beginning. Just like he spoke to Eve in the Garden of Eden and questioned her, “has God really said?” The enemy of your soul loves to cast doubt on the Word of God and undermine its authority and effectiveness in your life. If you and I follow along with his schemes by regarding thoughts that we ought to cast out, we become players in a game that ends in our own downfall.

Let’s break this down, because not all thoughts are created equal. Here are some of the biggest culprits:

1. Intrusive Thoughts

These are the thoughts that force their way in—uninvited, unwelcome, and often unexplainable. They just show up. One moment you’re thinking about your day, and the next, a dark or discouraging thought interrupts. These are the devil’s sneak attacks.

2. Warring Thoughts

These thoughts battle for dominance. You’re trying to hold on to a promise from God, but another thought is pushing back—fighting to convince you otherwise.

A big reason we often fall prey to warring thoughts is because we are not completely submitted to the Lordship of Christ!

Scripture says in the Book of Luke 12:25-32 NLT

[25] Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? [26] And if worry can't accomplish a little thing like that, what's the use of worrying over bigger things? [27] "Look at the lilies and how they grow. They don't work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. [28] And if God cares so wonderfully for flowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith? [29] "And don't be concerned about what to eat and what to drink. Don't worry about such things. [30] These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers all over the world, but your Father already knows your needs. [31] Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and he will give you everything you need. [32] "So don't be afraid, little flock. For it gives your Father great happiness to give you the Kingdom.

Warring thoughts lose their effectiveness when we choose to listen to the truth. The Lord declares to us that we already have all we need because it’s in the Father’s heart to give us our needs.

No matter what kind of thought is battling your mind, there is already a promise from God in place to win the fight!

3. Opposing Thoughts

These come to challenge the truth. They whisper things like, “Does God really love me? Will He really come through? Is His Word even for me?”

They question. They mock. They oppose.

This is why staying faithful to the Word of God is so important. His word is like a hammer that beats against every opposing thought. When truth saturates our lives, it leaves no room for any other thought to take root.

4. Lying Thoughts

These come on the heels of the opposing ones. Once the opposing thought has seeded doubt, the lie moves in and says: “You’re worthless. You’re alone. God doesn’t care. No one loves you.”

Do you see the pattern?

It starts with a whisper. Then comes the doubt. Then comes the lie.

5. Fearful Thoughts

Once those lies settle, fear moves in and builds a stronghold. And that fear—if left unchecked—opens the door for the enemy to go even deeper.

But here’s the truth: God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.

Fear is not just an emotion. Fear is a demonic spirit.

You need to know and remember that the Lord has given you power over every demonic spirit and through the name of Jesus you have authority to cast fear out!

Overruling the Devil with the Word

So what do we do?

We fight back. Not with human strength, but with divine power. The Word of God is our weapon.

2 Corinthians 10:3–5 says:

[3] For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. [4] For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, [5] casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.

Do you see it? We don’t have to just sit and take it. We pull those strongholds down. We cast down arguments and take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.

How do we do that? With our mouths.

You cast it down by speaking.

You silence the lies by declaring truth.

You overrule the enemy by declaring the Word of God.

Proverbs says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue.” That means every word you speak is either giving life or giving death. It’s that serious.

So declare what God has said.

Declare His promises over your life.

Declare His purpose over your future.

Speak out the prophetic words He’s spoken to your heart—just like Paul told Timothy in 1 Timothy 1:18, to wage war by the prophetic word that had been spoken over him.

That’s why I keep a notebook of the things God has whispered to me—so I can go back and fight with those words when the battle gets intense.

And here’s another powerful weapon: Praying in the Spirit.

Let me say this clearly: if you’ve not been filled with the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues, I urge you—seek God until you are.

Tongues are a gift of the Spirit.

They are a prayer language that connects your prayer straight to the heart of the Father. Do not be dragged down by doubt and disappointment if you have not yet partaken of this gift. If it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom, then it is also his pleasure to equip you with the gifts of the kingdom.

Jesus breathed on the disciples and said to them, “be filled with the Spirit.” In this same way he has breathed upon every believer and we all have the spiritual capacity to pray in the Spirit! You just need to open up your heart and allow the words to flow. Do not doubt.

I spent years not understanding that the Lord has already made this gift possible in my life. But when I saw it as the truth, in one moment of time the heavenly language flowed!

This isn’t a side benefit. It’s power. It’s fire. It’s strength for the battle.

When you pray in the Spirit, you build yourself up in your most holy faith. When you pray in tongues, your spirit connects directly to God, and it strengthens you from the inside out.

That’s how the word at the beginning of this message came to me. I was praying in the Holy Ghost, and the Lord began to stir this message in my spirit. I paused, listened, and He spoke.

You may say, “But I’m not a preacher.”

That’s okay. You don’t have to be.

God wants to give you a word—a word for your life, for your situation, for your struggle, for your family, for your breakthrough. And as you seek Him, He’ll speak.

Equipping Truths That Strengthen Us

Let me finish with some equipping truths that I believe will strengthen your spirit today:

1. Renew Your Mind

Romans 12 tells us that transformation happens by the renewing of the mind. That happens through the Word. As you read it, declare it, and meditate on it, your thinking begins to align with God’s.

Romans 12:1-2 NKJV

[1] I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. [2] And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

The more you meditate on God’s Word, the more it fills your heart. It is alive and transformative. His Word penetrates the fibers of your faith and provides nutrients so it will grow strong. You begin to think differently without trying, because the Word changes the spiritual DNA in your mind. Your thoughts begin to align with the Lord’s thoughts and the Holy Spirit has a door into your heart available for Him to speak to you.

2. You Have the Mind of Christ

Because the Holy Spirit lives in you, you have access to the mind of Christ. You were created to hear God’s voice. His sheep know His voice—and you are His.

Both the Logos written Word of God is at your disposal and also the Rhema Word of God, which is a word of the Holy Spirit which He speaks to your heart in the moment.

As believers, we ought to be living in both the Logos Word of God and the real-time Rhema Word of God. You do not have to live a life of silence. God desires to speak and is speaking.

3. Fix Your Mind in the Right Place

Set your thoughts on things above. Philippians says to think on what is pure, lovely, excellent, and praiseworthy. That’s how you anchor your thoughts and set your mind in the right place.

Decide in advance what you are going to think about. Do not give place to the doubt-filled discouragement that you used to feed on. Think on the goodness of God. Set your mind and heart above the fray!

4. Peace is Your Weapon

Isaiah 26:3 says, “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.”

Peace is not just comfort—it’s power. It’s armor. It’s a fortress that stands against the chaos of the enemy.

Jesus said, “My peace I give to you.” Not as the world gives. His peace will guard your heart and mind.

So today, stop giving weapons to the enemy.

Don’t arm him with your words.

Don’t empower him with your thoughts.

Instead, speak life. Speak truth. Pray in the Spirit. Feed on the Word. Stand in peace. And declare, in Jesus’ name: No more weapons in the enemy’s hands. My life belongs to God.

Let’s win this battle!
