God is the God of power. He is truly the epitome of His title: King of Kings and Lord of Lords. In all the earth, there is nothing strong enough to even slightly stand against the power of the Lord. This same power that He possesses is the very reality He longs to impart into your life.
When it feels as if all hell is coming against you, the Lord desires to step into the fray of battle, empower you, and release you to conquer. He places an overcoming spirit into those who will believe Him by faith and receive from His hand.
The church must rise again into this power of God and stand for what Scripture declares.
I submit to you that Jesus has not changed from the One we read about in Scripture. He still heals, delivers, restores, and casts out demons. If there was ever a time the church needed to know the Jesus of Scripture, it is now. We live in a world that is falling apart, but in the midst of the chaos, Jesus stands ready to release the power of His Holy Spirit into each person who will open their hearts to the message of His word.
Revival and restoration are the markers of our generation. We are the ones who will inherit the harvest of the ages. All across the world, it is happening now. On college and university campuses, we see hundreds, if not thousands, being saved, repenting of their sins, and taking the step of baptism as a witness to the world of God’s saving grace.
Friend, this same God who is moving across the earth longs to move in your life. He will personally come in and begin to change you from the inside out. His power is available to you now. Even as I write these sentences, I can feel the presence and power of the Holy Spirit. There is a deep desire in my heart to pray for you, and I am. My heart is praying for each reader, asking God to save you, heal you, deliver you, and set you free from any kind of bondage you’ve been entrapped by. This God of power whom we serve will do it for you!
Scripture declares His power to us in many passages.
Psalms 62:11 tells us that “power belongs to God.” Power is His nature and character. If you find yourself up against a wall with nowhere to turn, you need to turn to the God who alone possesses the power to meet your needs.
Isaiah 40:29 is a promise of hope to those who are burdened by their circumstances, problems, sicknesses, and strongholds. “He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might, He increases strength” (Isaiah 40:29 NKJV). The Lord will infuse power into your broken body, your failing resources, and the relationships that seem to be falling apart. He restores. His power is seen in His love for those who are facing life-altering issues. Throughout the Gospels, we see Jesus touching and healing people. Often, He is seen casting out demons from those who are bound. You need to know that this same Jesus is alive today, and His power has not diminished in the least.
What He did in the pages of Scripture, He will still do today.
If you feel weak, He is the God who will increase your strength. How can He do this? Why does Jesus have this power? We find that it has been given to Him by His Father. The Lord of the universe sent Jesus in our place to live a sinless life and offer Himself as the only sacrifice fitting to please the Lord. Through faith in Jesus, men and women can be freed from every sort of stronghold and bondage of the enemy. You need to know that years of struggle can be finished in a moment when Jesus speaks the word. The book of Matthew speaks of this powerful authority Jesus possesses. “And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, ‘All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth’” (Matthew 28:18 NKJV). When Jesus said “all authority,” He made it clear that nothing was left outside the realm of His influence and power.
Friend, as a believer, you serve a God who can command the ocean and calm the storm. Our Jesus can raise the dead and feed the multitudes. He can move mountains of obstacles in your way. Never underestimate the power and authority that Jesus carries. The Lord doesn’t need to prove Himself, and He is never self-serving. The authority and power Jesus wields are used not only to run the universe (as if He had to take daily oversight of it, which He does not) but also to carry, equip, resource, save, heal, and deliver His children. His power is used to seek and save those who are lost. Ultimately, it means His power is for you! His power can work in you, and He desires for it to.
Scripture gives us a taste of its richest words when in the book of Ephesians it says, “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen” (Ephesians 3:20-21 NIV).
The Lord works in our lives according to the level of His power at work within us. The Lord looks for times and opportunities to impart Himself into our lives at greater levels, but it requires greater submission from us. For Him to impart a deeper fullness in my life means that I must allow Him deeper control in my life. When He has full control, His power can work more effectively in me. When this happens, He is able to do immeasurably more than the biggest idea I could ever conceive. His power at work within us gives Him access to our hearts to such a degree that our asking can never keep pace with His answers. Our needs are nothing compared with His provision. Our problems are nothing in the light of His solutions. The only thing that remains is for us to give Him our everything—hold nothing back and keep nothing hidden from Him. Our declaration must become: it all belongs to Jesus!
Do you have a need that you can’t meet? Is there a looming problem that looks unsolvable? Friend, I encourage you to fall deeply in love with Jesus Christ and seek the Holy Spirit’s guidance in your life. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of truth. He will guide you onto the right path at the right time with the right people and provide the right outcomes.
God’s power is available to you—right now. Do not wait; go to the Lord and ask for help. If you are already asking, then don’t stop asking! The Bible says those who ask receive.
